An area of outstanding natural beauty, unspoilt and spotless, the sand is pristine and the water sparkles, connected to the peaceful Chichester Harbour, West Wittering is the perfect beach for a family day trip on the South Coast of England and without a doubt our favourite spot in England. Whether we are blessed with the sun or not, this beach always gives me a sense of paradise and serenity.
1.) It’s Sandy!
Grab your bucket and spade and build your empire or just bury dad when he falls asleep.

2. Lifeguards
There is a decent size flagged area where it is safest to swim, with lifeguards watching over you and your loved ones. There is also a separate area for water sports such as surfing and paddle boarding. So dust off those boards and nurture your soul.
3.) Walks
With meandering pathways through the nature reserve and across to the harbour, there’s always somewhere new to explore, perfect for a Sunday stroll.

The harbour deserves a blog of its own, but for now it needs to be on this list! A nature conservation, the harbour is home to a wide variety of animals and creatures that are really easy to spot. The perfect adventure.

5.) Facilities
As far as a rural, unspoilt, spotless beach goes, West Wittering has all the facilities you could imagine. Café, shop, toilets, showers, and of course whippy ice creams! There is also a new Café complex being built ready for later on this year (2019)

Tips:
- Grab a wristband from the main lifeguard’s hut to write your number on just in case little ones walk off.
- The car park prices range during season and time of the day. Low season expect to pay £2.00, high season it rises to £8.50
- The postcode is PO20 8AJ

- In high season, expect traffic down the country lane that leads to the beach through the neighbouring villages.
- BBQ’s are welcome!
